RGB & CMYK
All computer monitors and printers, digital cameras and scanners use three colours (RGB Red, Green and Blue) to create an image. Pantone or Spot colours involve using just one pre-mixed colour ink. We use the full colour process (CMYK Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) and almost all colours in the spectrum can be created using a combination of these four colours.
The artwork you send us needs to have been created in CMYK. Most design programs give you the option of setting your colour mode so please check that you are using CMYK before you start. You can submit your artwork in RGB however when we convert it to CMYK there may be changes to the colours you have used and/or colours could appear washed out. We will advise you if this is the case.
Sometimes it’s just not possible to create an equivalent RGB or Spot colour in CMYK but you can always get pretty close.

Bleed
Leaving enough space
All our artwork needs a 2mm bleed, most companies will as for 3mm. This is simply an extra 2mm of background on your document which we will trim o ff during the fin nishing process. Obviously you don’t want us to cut off anything important, so you need to make sure that anything you would like to keep is at least 2mm from the edge. We would also recomend that any text is also in a further 5mm in so that when cut the text is not too close to the edge.
